b. 9-24

composition: Op. 30, Mazurka in D♭ major

11 staccato dots in FC

13 dots in FE (→EE)

11 dots in GE1

14 dots in GE2

16 dots suggested by the editors

..

Staccato dots under (over) the bass notes are present in this theme both in FC and FE in the vast majority of cases (we take into account both the discussed bars and their counterparts upon the return of the theme (bars 79-94). The distribution of the bars devoid of dots is certainly accidental, hence in the main text we give them in all bars.
In GE1 and EE the versions of FC and FE, respectively, were inaccurately reproduced. In GE2 the majority of the dots missing in GE1 were added.

2 slurs in FC, literal reading

Continuous slur in FE (contextual interpretation→EE)

2 slurs in GE

..

The slurring of the first phrase in this section is inaccurate or erroneous both in FC and FE. It concerns particularly FC, in which, when interpreted literally, the slurs are unclear and almost certainly incomplete. The slurring of FE can be easily guessed, as a result of which a corrected version of this slurring is already present in EE; in this situation, it is the version we give in the main text.
The slur added in pencil to FC in bars 27-28 comes from the reviser of GE, who considered the absence of a slur in these bars (and actually rightly so) to be a patent mistake (in FC these bars end the page, which is often conducive to oversights).

No markings in FC (→GE)

Pedalling in FE (→EE)

..

The absence of pedalling in FC (→GE) could be caused by the same issue as the absence of the R.H. slur – distraction at the end of a page. Another possibility could be an oversight by Chopin, who was adding pedalling to FC – starting from bar 29, which opens a new page in FC, the pedal markings are written in Chopin's hand (to bar 39).

b. 30

composition: Op. 30, Mazurka in D♭ major

..

In FC Chopin deleted all three L.H. chords written by Fontana and replaced them with new ones. The reason was a mistake by the copyist, who wrote g as the bottom note of the chords thrice (instead of f).

In FC and FE the flats lowering c(1) to c(1) are missing. Chopin's patent mistake was corrected in GE and EE.
